Taiwan, Day 9: Kenting & Hengchuen

Sleeping at Anderson's rented "villa" was a little hard only because the blanket he provided was not intended for two people and definitely not for someone my height. Other than that fact, our stay was very pleasant. Pictures of Casa del ACA will be provided... next post I believe.

We started out the day by going to the aquarium and seeing all the parts it had to offer. The "best" part was the LED 3D aquatic dinosaur section and the LED penguin section. Now there were also real penguins, but it was just humorous that they had fake ones. We saw Beluga whales, poisonous aquatic animals, lots of fish, HUMPBACK WHAAAAAAAAAAALES, and the longest underwater tunnel in the world.

After the aquarium, we went to Hengchuen for lunch. On the way, we saw a scooter that had been completely run over by a car. I'm pretty sure the driver died. This did not help Tammy's already nervous/scared attitude while riding on the back of our scooter. I was living it up though. I can't wait to get my motorcycle now. The only hard part was adjusting to the weight of the scooter. Once I got used to that it was easy to manuver. Lunch in Hengchuen was *AWESOME*. Hands down one of the best meals I'd had all trip. The town itself was pretty cool too. It was a very nice medium sized town with a cool old city and a scooter lane (which apparently is unusual).

After we ate, we headed to Siaowan Beach (Little Bay) and hung out there for a little while. We hit up the Kenting Night Market and made a daring scooter ride home through heavy traffic. Tammy was terrified.

Aquarium entrance.

Tammy, looking good.

Tammy, looking bad... Ok, this is an octopus.

This is obviously a corndog. Don't judge me. I was told they had good corndogs at the aquarium.

This was an epic shot. I can't believe Tammy got it. The HUMPBACK WHAAALE (Dane Cook reference) was breaching out of it's tank and Tammy managed to catch it. For some reason they allowed little kids to swim in it's tank... ok ok it's just a statue.

This kid had the right idea. It was hot as hell that day. I had to unstick myself every other second.

Shrimp dumplings at lunch.

They are twins!

Pig ear, liver, and random pieces of meat off the pig.

Something delicious made with shrimp. It was like eating a piece of heaven.

Squid ball soup with broad rice noodles. Yum.

We tore that shit up.

Hot & Sour soup /w shrimp dumplings.

Explanation needed? I think not.

Rice sausage & Sweet sausage.

Anderson's girlfriend loved this stuff. There was duck tongue, duck head (not Duck Head), blood cakes, and other random stuff. I tried the duck tongue and I'd had the blood cake already.

There were tons of these little games. Devon would have loved it.

Sunset on the beach.

More grilled squid. This one was much better than the other one.

More meat on sticks. I got the sweet sausage and guess what? Yeah, chicken butt.

I thought the other corndog was good. *THIS ONE WAS EPIC* Can you tell what that is? Yes, that is correct. Those are FRENCH FRIES on the outside of those corndogs. Yum.

It was packed.

Still packed. I drove a scooter through this. Anderson' girlfriend told me I did amazing. I know. I *am* amazing.
